Can the bible be seen as a spiritual metaphor?

Yes, it more like a vision than a history book and is properly used as a source of inspiration. Its got a lot of good history too, of course, and ancient wisdom. Most of what is said and done in the name of religion is pretty worthless, other than to reure people about awful things such as death.
